INFORMATIONMichaela Staton is a creative director and designer based in Washington, D.C.
She is currently the Assistant Creative Director at Foreign Affairs magazine. Working across a wide range of disciplines, she has experience within publications, agencies, in-house, and nonprofits. Her practice explores editorial design, art direction, illustration, typeface design, lettering, and branding.
She holds an MA in Typeface Design from the University of Reading (UK), where she researched early Arabic printing in Europe, and a BA in Graphic Design from Anderson University. She has particular interests in how multi-script typography informs pedagogy and editorial design. When she isn’t tinkering with letters, words, and stories, you’ll likely find her in a dance class.
